F90 Last MY

When would it be the last year of production for the current F90? Buying my time to get a last model year F90 before they go electric.

Looks like the next 5 series will be a 2023 model. Which means the 2022 is most likely the last year.

G60 in production 07/23... So spring of 2023 would be the latest... so the 2023 M5 model year will be the last until MY 2025??

It's likely the next M5 will be a hybrid of some sort. They still have the I5 to fill EV gap

If the trend is the same, the g60 will be a MY2024 in the summer of 2023.

Sounds right. BMW will probably announce the G60 late 2022 for 2023 production. The M5 always takes a 1 year hiatus with the new MY.

Most likely but I would keep an eye in case BMW pushes things up with the G60 launch. Remember the M5 will always take a 1 year hiatus from the initial new MY launch. Since the LCI just came out with MY21, I don't anticipate any major changes with MY22 or MY23 for that matter. Are you waiting because of the parts/chip/supply shortage for some of the options not available now?

You really think they will immediately go with a full "ELECTRIC M5" ??? That seems like a pretty rash marketing choice on the part of BMW and I can't see this EVER being a popular move with this segment of the market. I know that German automakers are some of the most leftist progressive types out there and will undoubtedly be the first to make these sorts of moves as they are all about emissions... However, I would think that they would go electric with their standard series lineups before the "M" vehicles which are, as we all know, aimed at US, the performance market who LOVES our petrol powered cars. If they are really planning to make this move sooner rather that later then it would make far more sense to phase it in slowly with segments of their buying audience that would be far more receptive FIRST, then begin with M hybrids as an option first. Of course this is all just my opinion and they may just pull the rug out from under everyone and lose a whole bunch of potential customers in one fell swoop, who knows? lol

Yes...want to make sure the market stabilizes again so I don't have to compromise on any options.

I still think it will come sooner rather than later my 2022 model IMO will be within a year or so of the end , BMW have changed they production strategy at the moment producing way less and more to order, Partly because of part shortages and also market changes. They are really concerned about the UK's order books being way down.
This "Green brigade" seem to be dictating with their "Climate change bollx".

I too hope BMW will not go with an all electric M5 out of the gate with the next generation. For certain, it will be some type of hybrid 48v, etc. like in the 440i. Other brands like Mercedes is also doing the hybrid format engine. BMW didn't even introduce a new engine with the current F90 M5, basically the same S63 engine from the previous F10 M5, really a technical update (S63tu) was all. This shows BMW is already planning a major overhaul to go with some type of hybrid if not electric engine for the future. The success of Tesla in the last few years is putting pressure for others to follow suit in this new digital electric age of cars. I hope I'm wrong and BMW will still continue to offer a V8 TT petrol version of the M5 for us petrol heads.

According to Marcus Flasch the ICE will continue after 2025. I think the next generation M5 will likely have an ICE drive train.

The question asked is as follow.
How long we still have to wait for a BEV M, 15,20, 25 or even more years?

Flasch answered.
We don't want to answer such a hypothetical question, we want and need to remain commercial relevant. It's no doubt the future, but when is now a question left unanswered. Also because the ICE still has a very long and important role to play. I can tell you this: as from 2025 we'll have all kinds of motors: ICE, PHEV and BEV and they will provide a solution for everybodies needs and wants.

Most likely yes the next m5 will be ICE again but I think in the form of hybrid, not full ICE like we had up until now.
