LOL! I don't look up or down at people who choose BMW's, especially the line of 5's, I am an enthusiast and I was there once when all I could afford was a 3-series (E30). I appreciate the brand and don't judge or put myself ahead of others because of the badge, but posers and over stating the M badge is definitely a pet peeve. BMW definitely is over doing the M brand but oh well. The M550 is in the M5 section on ordering and configuring, so I get why people put it in the same category. The manufacturer does.

As for the P - i get it if you're going used 4s then fair enough.
As for over doing the M brand not sure if you mean over marketing or over 'hyping'. My personal thought is the M variant really separates its self from the rest, i have owned a good bit of BMW's but the M5 is a drivers choice but for a 5 series owner its definitely above the rest. Like you I don't daily it but I have an x4mc as well and its an absolute blast to drive, I would choose that over m550 all day long. I think the M550 was over sold by BMW, i loved it but expected more. I'm also an enthusiast so understand your point of view as well, i have an e36 m3 which is an amazing car as well. Point being we all love the brand but there are levels and variants that appeal to everyone differently, just keep enjoying them! Quote:

I daily the M5C. Even as a special order spec.
My weekender is a 2011 128i stick track rat with 12k miles.

Agreed - can't go wrong with a p car they are definitely amazing and superior depending on wants ... do we even maximize these cars without hitting a track i'd say no its just knowing its there i guess lol
as for leasing - i lease because usually within 6 months i'm bored of the car, that being said this m5 i may possibly buy out can't get enough of it 10 months later but a hybrid m5 sounds interesting as well lol it never ends ... only thing i differ on is power - the m5 has a ton more and a freight train up top vs m550. m5 advertised at 625 is smoking mirrors, i had a dinan flash in my m550 and it got brutalized by stock m5's. the x4 had about a car on it .. we are definitely in a good position to have these conversations Quote:
