Signal Green M5 Competition order

I finally pulled the trigger on an M5 Comp and paid the deposit on 7th August. I am still stuck at 55 and awaiting build slot. This was pencilled in for first half of October.

How are other folks finding the build process and schedule slippage at the moment?

I am based in NZ and was hoping to see the car in time for the summer break December thru January - hopefully things will start to move soon!

One thing I am curious about is how you get access to your order to personally track progress. The dealer is doing this on an ad-hoc basis at the moment - when I phone him he checks

Any help/comments on build status gratefully received.

Cheers,
Mike.

I called the dealer and now out of production and awaiting shipment. Best date for arrival is end January. Once on the ship I should be able to track 🙂

Congratulations.

There are 3 ways to track progress.
1. The BMW website. Not sure about NZ, but in the US they give you the "status". You can see examples from other threads in this topic.
2. The BMW "Genius". They have a little more info, but not much.
3. Your sales rep. Apparently they have someone to talk to at BMW that knows what is going on. When the sales rep talks to the BMW rep, which is pretty infrequently apparently, you get the most accurate status.

Apparently NZ privacy laws don't allow me to track directly. So relying on the dealer for updates. Once it's on the ship I can track the passage on shipping websites. Why can't they put cars on planes 🤣

Finally the car has arrived today at the dealer. They just need to do all the preparation for on road and the ceramic coating and PPF should be done over the weekend for a handover on Tuesday afternoon….can't wait.

There is a car that same color in my area north of Dallas, Tx. I have seen it a couple of times and wondered what is the name of the color. It definitely stands out.
