No signal on iDrive

BIMMERPOST
     Featured on BIMMERPOST.com
Anyone get this? Jumped in my M5 to head to an appointment only to see this on my iDrive screen. Right away I start to troubleshoot. I couldn't get it off the screen!! Turn off the car and locked it and could still see "no signal" in the dark cabin! (10 mins of waiting). I was really late now and decided to head out. After driving for 15 mins the system rebooted and started working again! Let's hope this is not a sign of things to come!

You can reset the head unit by holding the volume knob down for 30 seconds and see if that restarts the system. A no signal display usually means there's an error in the video line between the Headunit and the Central Information Display. At least you have photo prod to show dealer if you bring it in. Would wait until it does it maybe a couple more times tho. These cars are full of computers and every once in awhile things will bug out.

Yeah, I tried that holding the power button and no change. I'll just have to keep an eye on it and next time it does it, I'll make an appointment.

You have to press/hold the radio power button AND the mode button to reset.

Where did you find this info? Holding the power button alone for 30 seconds achieves a reset
