RKP front lip fell off
I purchased an authentic RKP front lip (weave meets in middle, has the RKP logo on the bottom and on the screw plate) and had it installed by a local professional installer here. They have done some other installs on my car and the work has been good.
3 months after install the driver side came lose while driving on the highway, I immediately exited to see what happened. Look under the car and see the adhesive has come lose on the drivers side and also all 3 screws that secure the lip are missing. The lip is destroyed of course. Took a video and then took the car to the shop. Tech, manager, and (maybe) owner came out to inspect. Told them the above and they are confident the lip was secured with screws, in fact they took off the whole front bumper to install it. They are saying maybe all 3 screws came lose over 3 months due to vibration and fell out. I find that very improbable. They want to investigate with manufacturer and distributor to see if anyone has had similar issues. Any input? Sounds to me like they forgot to secure the lip with screws. Also not sure how the adhesive would come lose to begin with. It was pretty flush on install.

If they did secure lip with screws you would have small holes in the bottom of your bumper.
Have them show you the holes in the bottom of bumper. If there no holes you have a leg to stand on with the installer. There is no way screws back out. I had a lip on my C63 screw into bumper and runs over 160 mph no issues. Also if there was screws and lip got loose it would hit the ground and rip off and damage the bottom of your bumper. No way all screws fell out. The manufacturer/distributor has nothing to do with this. Good luck |

Thanks for the input. Screw holes will be there regardless as there was an identical lip before that I installed but cracked. I think they owe me a lip regardless though considering it's impossible those 3 screws could come loose on their own

Sounds like bs. My lip has been on for almost 2 years. Screws do not back out by themselves, unless the hole for the screw was too large/or damaged.
It was their poor installation, they owe you some compensation for sure. Good luck! |

Nope.
I doubt hitting something would cause 11 bolts to come out clean without damaging my bumper and also the lip isn't cracked, just damaged from dragging on the road. The only possibilities are they never installed the bolts because they goofed up or (very unlikely) someone attempted to steal my lip, got all the way as far as getting under my car unnoticed, removing 8 bolts with a socket wrench then 3 additional with a hex key but didn't bother to actually pull the lip off and steal it.
