Unfortunately, while offloading and processing is quick, cars are sitting at the port for weeks and months waiting on RAM retrofit and other chip-related issues.

Some ports are quicker than others but the shortages are impacting them all in one way or another.

That is true. Maybe someone did an ED, and wouldn't have to wait that long

My car arrived to Baltimore port on 10/19 and I've been waiting for the RAM update since 10/21.

No update. My CA just keeps telling me he anticipates it any day now. He hasn't exactly been proactive in trying to get it here any sooner though. I've heard other dealers are calling the ports and trying to get their cars moved up in the priority list. I'm starting to shop around for other cars that are already at the dealer at this point but hard to stomach paying over MSRP.

Yes, my car has the B&W system.

I was told that if you have B&W, you’re looking at a longer delay because those chips are harder to come by. I also have B&W system, I’m going on 3 weeks at the VPC in Oxnard.

Just in….was told that B&W chip will not be supplied until 2nd week of January.

What Port is your car at?

I'm at Baltimore and was told early January so this would seem to make sense.

Not holding my breath as every timeframe I've been provided has been garbage 😂.

My CA sent me a copy of my Vehicle Inquiry: Status sheet this morning but no firm update as of today. We all knew that, though. At least they’re keeping me in the loop which is nice.

It's so weird you guys are waiting this long... my first cars boat docked Nov 2, chip installed Nov 16, car finished production Oct 6... was port Charleston. And yet there are people that were waiting before me and they never got theirs...

I've heard a few things now - for one, apparently the Baltimore port is known to be very slow. Also, the B&W system requires a specific chip different from the standard sound. I told my CA I'm starting to look at replacements to get something else in the works. There are a few X5m's out there ready to go....

No. Mine does not have Bowers and Wilkins and I'm still open status on my VIN im thinking it is the satellite radio chip. Not 100 percent sure tho.
