I have a 2021 M5Comp, and it's amazing.

I got full PPF for it, even On the interior details of the piano black wood.

I noticed right above it the ambient lighting having two very faint yet still noticiable hotspots.

I've provided a photo to show. (Edit: the quality upload does not show the bright spots… of course they don't…)
I've added a photo I found online to show what I am talking about, only for me it's in the dashboard lights.

Does anyone know why this happens? And can it be replaced?

Is it only on one side? Sounds like you’re surely still in the warranty period, so I would have it addressed by the dealer. They will likely replace the door card.

Jacob_Tyler_Freed Did you ever figure out what it was? It also could be a normal with the clips on the back of the LED strip holding it in place and how it reflects onto the dash.

I just noticed this on my 22 M550i, but I feel like it has always been there and is just how it comes from factory.

I know this thread was a while ago but any update?

Yes, these "hot spots" are a known issue. I was told by my local BMW that it's a one-time only replacement. I have a '21 M5 CP and just had both my passenger and driver doors lights done, under warranty. While the new ones are far better, they still are not perfect. They are also somewhat labor intensive and $$ if not under warranty, I'm told. Talk to your SE. If you have a good relationship, they will accommodate.

Perfect thank you for the info, I have an appointment next week. You're saying if the replacement fails they will not cover it again right? So BS

Can you clarify the “one time replacement”?

Is this valid if I’m outside of warranty?

Just purchased my M5C a month ago and now noticing I’ve got dim areas on the main dashboard upper light bar and driver’s side B&W LED is out
