Force map update?

Is there a way to do this. I'm still rocking 2019-3. Thought these were supposed to update automatically.

Yes, do it through USB-STICK. That will force the update.

Where can I download it from without paying for it. Don't see it anywhere on BMW website anymore.

You have to pay for it. Buy it through bmw connected drive.
The download will be for your car only

The download will be a complete map update ( eg for the U.K. we get about 32GB of data to cover Europe)
The OTA updates ( if you see any) are smaller updates .

You'll need a 64GB usb drive to accommodate the update which can be done whilst you drive.

Ya I'm not gonna pay for something that is supposed to be free. But with that said, I still don't see an area to buy the maps. It just says my car gets them OTA for free on the website.

Not sure which country you are in so it may vary but in the U.K. the maps are only free for the first 3 years, after which you have to pay.

If you are within the free period for your market I would speak to bmw

There was a guy on F10 site selling Nav updated for like $15 (I think). Try it in classified section

I am suggesting the following:

- register a connected drive /my bmw account on proper bmw site.

- add your bmw to your my bmw site

- after choosing the registered car, there will be a Map Update button under you car. After you choosing it, on the web page there will be a link for BMW Downloader.
You should download and install BMW Downloader on to your PC.

You can login into BMW Download with your Connected Drive / My BMW account (email address and pwd).

BMW Downloader is for downloading the latest full maps for your registered vehicles.

You download the map and then the downloader copies them into your 64GB size USB pen drive.

In the US, OTA 3-4 times a year.
