Same here but I was week 35. What's going on?

I got a call from my CA earlier this evening. The Sales Manager and my CA were finally able to get their BMW NA regional sales rep on the phone. They still have no idea why my car went from week 35 to 37, and then all the way to week 44. However they did have her run my production number by the parts purchasing manager and confirmed my car will still get the B&W as ordered. Apparently any orders that were accepted prior to week 35 that had the B&W optioned will get it. My CA said that BMW’s systems that manage vehicle production talk real-time to their suppliers systems. So when new vehicle orders are accepted by BMW the parts to build the cars are automatically ordered.

Given this, here’s my revised best guess of what’s going on with all of our production slots moving around. It sounds like BMW heard from the B&W supplier around week 35 they were having supply issues for new systems being ordered. So BMW pulls the B&W system as an option. But prior orders that already had the B&W system parts allocated to them had to be rescheduled for when the parts are expected to arrive at the factory.

I truly hope you get your car w the B&W. But also - I know my order was accepted well before week 35. (I placed my order on 7/14 and was scheduled for production that week for a week 36 build). At the same time, I just can't see BMW reducing the total output of the factory to hold builds for this option. Reduced factory output = reduced revenue.

I'm scheduled to start production next week (but no B&W shows on my build any longer). Let's hope at least that holds.

Makes sense.

If this is the case, my build should include B&W.

CA confirmed it's still there so fingers crossed.

I have just cancelled mine.......originally late Sept / early Oct. Now late Feb 2022. Forget that, not waiting in limbo on a weekly basis for 5 months. Will stick with what I have got.

Yikes, sorry to hear that. Has anyone else in the week 35-40 crew been told next year yet? I guess I’ll call today to see what the genius has to report.

Im calling genius now and will check with my rep later. Naturally that worries me since I already sold my wifes X5 in anticipation of her build. I can wait on my M5 but if my Alpina sells and her car is not in route then she would be a very unhappy camper to have to drive our F450 for errands and to run our 6 year old. Im wishing now I would have waiting to sell her car. Hers was suppose to be a confirmed week 40 though and here by end of October...

BMW Genius are pretty much worthless. Mine are still allegedly M5: WK 40 and X5: week 46 (originally wk 40). When I ask about how realistic those estimates are and mention that members on the forum with week 35-37 have all had theirs moved back they just say they see week 40. Felt like I was talking to a computer.

I expect my M5 to move back next week if not sooner with many of yours being earlier build weeks and being pushed. Again the crappy part is just lack of real information so we can plan accordingly.

I sold my CTS-V back in June in anticipation of getting an M5. Luckily neither me or my wife have to be in the office every day so we can share her car. I also have my trusty old ‘07 XC90 to get me to and from on days when I need it. Not a huge rush here but it would be nice to know when I might be getting a car. Good luck with your orders!

Nice not to be alone I suppose. Honestly I could wait for my M5 until next year and be just fine, my truck is a really big truck for my wife to try to drive though when she needs to go anywhere so would be nice for her X5 to get here.
Too good of a time to sell a car not to let the Alpina goes when it goes. The way I see it, when supply is ample the value of that car will drop considerably over what I am even being offered in trade right now.

Trevor, keep us posted on the CS. Although I do not believe they are optioned with the B&W which seems to be the big hold up it would be nice to see someone getting their car moving forward.

Will do!

My mother got her ordered x5 in 3 weeks flat. You should experience no delays with that.. and that was just about 2 weeks ago we picked it up.

Just called the Genius line myself. I’m now “estimated” at week 45. So a January delivery if I’m lucky. Whatever!

The X5 has been pushed back 6 weeks so far (40 pushed to 46) which I assume is due to B&W shortage. M5 still shows as week 40 but still not holding my breath with what I am seeing others being moved back to.

This is not surprising, the ports are crazy. I am expecting delays during shipping unless they magically correct by then but they have been bad all year.
