I had a thread in the main section, but wanted to move it over here where it fits better. I'll be updating this as the car progresses and please feel free to share your production status as well!

I was originally told that the car would be a July production, but as of today it has started.

Additionally, a VIN has been assigned as well. Checking with my sales advisor to see when he thinks it will arrive since it started production early.

you are certainly ahead of the game. Just checked my dads, still stage 1. No movement.

Wonder how many owners we can gather in here.... would be cool to get a headcount.

I spoke to my Sales Advisor. He said it should be done by July 2nd and on a boat by the end of July.

Then, the long boat ride across the Atlantic, through the Panama Canal, etc…. Could be here late August/early September.

I'm in line for July but unlike GNALUZU have not moved past stage 1. Need to schedule a full wrap right off the dealer lot!

I think this could be the case as I had a dealer say that they had another allocation for a fall build but it had to be in Frozen Green Metallic. Not sure how that works, or if its to be believed, but thats what I was told.

Well, one week later and I am still sitting at "Production Begins". Guessing that it will be moving through the assembly line next week as my sales guy mentioned. I'll try and grab the screen shots of the status changes as they happen.

I believe so. But July production cars will be finished before the shutdown.

sometimes cars ship out in August, each manufacturer is different I wish they had a webcam set up so you could watch your buil, didnt Acura offer this? hell corvette , chevy would let you build your own motor and Porsche would let you see your 918 (unofficially, the rumor, not verifying its true)

Dealerships unplug dash cams these days. I'm guessing the factory wouldn't allow cameras either. They'd claim privacy.

However, it would be really cool to get to see the car go down the production line!

My car is currently in the paint booth. I checked every day this week and never saw the status change from Production Begins to Exterior Body Assembly Begins, but I am just gonna trust them that they did assemble the exterior of the car before they painted it.

As an update, I ordered a 2022 M5 Competition that just finished production today. We will most likely be on the same ship as I live in LA.

Looks like it really will be done tomorrow. I'm starting to get excited!

However, I'm guessing it will be at least 2 months more between waiting for a ship and then going to the west coast.

I missed a few more updates. Crazy how fast the car progresses when you really think about it.

Now I just sit and wait for the car to take that long boat ride across the Atlantic, through the Panama Canal and up to the port in California!

Awesome.

Just secured my M5 CS from a dealer at MSRP and only a $1,000 deposit. Had to inquire from dealerships up to 6 hours away. The dealerships in Los Angeles where I live wanted as much as 30k over msrp, lowest I found was 10k over. Luckily found one willing to do MSRP but it's a far drive but obviously worth it.
