M5 used prices?
Is it me or are these used price ridiculous?
For example seeing cars MSRP 120k 2019 M5 Being sold for 100-105k 10-15k miles. Why the hell would anybody buy a 3 year old car when you can get a 21/22 for about the same price ? 120kMSRP ON A 21 7-8% off Comes to 110-115k brand new car. Am I missing something here? |

Agreed, I was offered 64k for my 2018 last April (granted peak pandemic) traded into a dealership last week for 75k and took advantage of the sales tax credit of 6% of that additional towards the trade being in Maryland. This time last year 450 M5's for sale (Base/comp) currently less than 45. No discounts to be found. I'm assuming with the chip shortages potentially lasting well into next year this could be the trend for some time.

And they would resell it for more.
I bought a used M5 about 6 weeks ago and shopped around online. Used CPO 2018 M5 are about $80k if 25k miles or less. The only cheaper ones are higher miles. 2019 M5 Comp seemed to start at about $90k and go up. Most used car prices are up 10-20%. Porsche 911 Turbo are ridiculous. I was shopping for one and decided to hold off and buy the M5 instead. A 4 year old 911 Turbo was about 20% off MSRP, but the 3 year old M5 was about 30% off. |

I was given almost 10k more this year for my F82 M4 then I was last year when I priced out/shopped the F90. I'm happier now knowing that I ended up in the situation I'm in. Never, ever did I think I would see the day...

Even selling BMW's. We have received a lot a F8x and F90's come in on trade I am seeing 18's 19's M5's going for high 90 to 106 and some more and F8x go for in the mid 60's. In my head I don't think they would sell and they are just flying out of our showroom
My buddy just traded his 20 M5 Comp last week at Benz they offered him 100k trade in. Not even a desirable spec either I have been on the fence of selling my 20 M5 Comp with 5k miles for a LCI or G80 but its hard to gauge the market at all because you can be offered a ridiculous offer for your car or super lowball for them to try and make a 20k+ profit on it.

I got my certified 2020 non-comp with 3500 miles for $94k, I thought that was quite reasonable. This is with individual paint, full merino leather, bowers wilkins sound, and night vision.

I am selling my 2018 M5 to car max this coming week. Their offer was the highest compared to all dealers I spoke with. I could probably get a little more money selling on my own but too busy to deal with all that. My car has about 12k miles in alpine white.

My 19 non comp lease ends 6/22. Only have 15.5k on it. Debating on doing payoff them selling but what can I get that's comparable and not a ton more than what my payments are now?

Probably better off buying it off lease, then driving it for a bit while this madness settles itself down.

I have just under 20k miles now. KBB says trade-in value is something like $82-84k. Buy out will be $65k plus $5k tax in 3/2022. Think I will be buying it out, then trade it in later in 2022 before M5 supply builds going into 2023. Probably able to trade in for no loss or maybe even some profit at that point. Of course, no car payments once it's bought out too!

To answer your question, nothing. My lease ends in 2 weeks. There is absolutely nothing out there. I can't justify paying $1700-1900 for a lesser car when I've been paying $1200-1400 on M5, M6, etc. leases forever..... Was looking at getting an Escalade and these things are like $1700-2000 a month. Just not worth it. 2023 Range? Heard dealers are marking these up $25-50k in some instances. Paying $2k a month for the X5M or M8 at MSRP when they are updating both cars this year? Hard pass. Another M5? Why, to wait 5 months to get it built because of supply chain issues just for it to be an old model a year after? I feel fortunate we got our X7 in August with 8% off. I might just buy a beater for a year until the market stabilizes.
