New dinan coilpacks

Seen that dinan released new coil packs in different colors and claiming to have 10% more energy output than stock, price also isnt bad, wondering if ppl are planing on getting these instead of oem for maintenance?

At 50-100k miles on a modified car, they could help and if they are in the same price range as OEM they are worth considering.

You can pretty much by 2.5 of the Dinan coil packs for the price of one OE ($28 vs. $74). Seems like a no-brainer if you're replacing yours.

Just be advised that they currently need modification to work with our engines, so once you modify, there’s no warranty or return.

After reading through Dinan's stuff, it looks like the modification may be to the actual coil and not to the vehicle.

Correct. Its a locating tab that is designed in the coil that needs to be shaved off to be compatible for most N63TU/S63TU applications. While the black coils will likely need the modification for awhile (still lots of stock) the red/blue ones are switching over to a tabless design where modification of the coil will not be needed. Just waiting on that replenishment stock to arrive.
