No it's not. Red is the "standard" - you had to ASK for the gold calipers. Why anyone would, I wouldn't know. Gold is the same as the competition, the red distinguishes the CS as far as I can tell. See an M5 with carbon brakes and red calipers it's a CS. But let me check the BMW website again.

*edit* - confirmed - unless the dealers have the ability to red calipers on a carbon M5, if you see an M5 with carbon brakes with red calipers, it's a CS only.

I prefer the gold with green exterior. Yes, same color as would be on the M5C carbon brakes but you could say the same thing about BHG exterior, you can get that on the M5C too, but not the green….? Personal preference I think.

I think both look good and the red calipers kind of complement the red accents on the interior a bit but prefer the gold as well. Red calipers are far more common as the CCBs aren't a commonly spec'd thing as well. I don't think someone will be staring through your wheel to look at the red calipers but then suddenly notice the brakes are carbon ceramics and at that point realize it's an M5 CS. Lol. There's a few other give aways and who cares anyway. 😂

Oh I learn something every day! I thought gold was standard on all CCB on the bmws haha. My mistake!

Tbh, in the rear view mirror, green doesn't standout. It took me a minute to figure out it was CS. This was in Germany on autobahn.

Gray gives the car more definition and contrast, when you looking through your mirrors.

Problem with the gold calipers imho is it is a different color than the CS accents. It kind of clashes imho.

Me too man. And, BMW changes shit up regularly. So, maybe someday things change. For the 2018 you could only get blue calipers for the metal, and gold only for the CCB's. Now, you can get black and red for the metal (I'd pick black), and the reds come on the M5 CS CCB's. Things can change. Choosing the gold for the CS sort of "future proofs" caliper damage because you can scavenge the gold calipers off the competitions. But I don't like the gold caliper mismatch to the wheels. But that's just me. To each his own.

Took me a few days to get sold on the green. I almost had my car wrapped a completely different color. It looks best in direct light. In the dark it's loses a lot of the color and looks bland. It does grow on you though and now I absolutely love it. Just make sure to drive in the day time only. Lol
