Removing window tint. Any dangers?
New car came with tint already from the dealer and it is not dark enough for my tastes. I've had some installers say they can "double" tint over existing and others say they would remove it and start over.
Any risks with them removing old tint? Could they damage rear defroster? Or is that inside the glass now versus on top of it? |

I wouldn't suggest doubling it. From a clarity perspective and also removal in the future.
Start new. Any competent shop will steam off the tint slowly which will not harm defrosters. I'm sure they deal with this all the time.

I had to retint my 330i 3 times over the course I owned it due to constant tint tickets.
My M4 I had to retint the front 2 windows due to flaking. I always took it back to where I originally did the work and just had them strip it and re do it. As adeuel mentioned, they deal with it more than we would think
