I will state again my Dealer said there is no Comp pack for 2019 - as of yesterday. That said - I went with next years allocation in case he is wrong (to at least allow me the opportunity to decide if I want it).

I truly don’t think the dealers know any more than we do. They will say anything to make you buy now and not wait.

Understood that he may not know all - I dealt with the GM and he has the PDF of the 2019 cars I believe - but again - I hedged my bets anyway by going for next years allocation.
Of course it also depends on what the comp pack is for 8-10K - the fact the M5 already outperforms MB's top E63S - I think I will likely be good. I will not road course this car as I don't think 4300 lb cars are meant to do that - and this will be my daily - so I'm very happy with 10.9 at 127-129 MPH lol. |

Don't have one. Just 95% sure BMW would not add competition package right after launch. They have never done this and I see no reason that they would start now. I could be wrong but I doubt it.

Perhaps they wanted to do something similar with the F90, but ZCP was just not ready for development yet. Even then, you have competition pack parts showing up in the BMW parts catalog for the F90, so it couldn't be too far away. I think going forward, we will have both the base M car and a competition package option right at launch, followed by a hardcore CS version around LCI time frame. |

I can think of a huge reason to make it available at launch: profit. Why not offer something early on that you can make more profit on? Plus it eliminates the frustration with early adopters that miss out on the comp pack when they would have ordered it otherwise. There are clearly people who want it and those that don't.

At this point, given how many days we're into Geneva, its pretty safe to say Competition Package is not being introduced at Geneva - which throws into doubt the accuracy of the information that CP would be available in April. (I suppose an alternate explanation is that BMW initially intended April, but then simply changed its mind about an April release date). In either instance, my money would not be on an April date anymore.
