The M5 had a CD player in the dash, and the SQ5 had one in the glovebox.... but the RS4 has modern tech (which I havent embraced) so its the radio all the way for me!

Dad's cars had a variety of 8-tracks that I recall, until the swap to cassette with the '78 BMW 633 CSi... By the time I got my Golf, we were well into the era of radio-cassette players and I had a lovely Panasonic one (until it got ripped out by light fingered Larry)... FM radio always sounds far bette to me than DAB (it should do, of course, given the compression DAB is transmitted with)...

Watching any American TV show of the era... didn't they always seem to have things so much easier in those stakes... huge cars, bench seats, always a handy scenic lookout...

My evening memory, is driving back up from Southampton to Hampton on a Sunday evening, tuned in to Radio Luxemburg. Needed a bit of fine tuning. |

Another great episode - loved the Bond feature.
Really think they have cracked it this series.

I think they should have had: Sabine Schmidt (rip) Rory Chris Matt Leblanc This would have been a great presenter set. |

+1 on getting rid of Paddy - can't stand his "comical one-liners"........

All I can hear is him doing that bloody Jackpot Joy bingo advert
Having only just watched E1 due to a SkyQ meltdown, I was happy he won the ferry race, having had a Mk1 XR2 as my first car (not that I had any kids back then to reminisce about it when I'm gone). The kids early memories will be cruising roof down in mums E93 M3 rather than dads E90 330i : |

Just watched episode 1. The dad car bit was great at the start but went on for ages and got full quick. I see Harris is a lifetime BMW man! I'm pretty sure I've inspired my daughter now for all things fast and noisy. Not so sure on some yet but there's time.
They do work pretty well together as a 3, easily the best version of the show since the Clarkson, May Hamster era

Caught the last 10 minutes waiting for Line Of Duty to start. McGuiness is a f***ing terrible presenter. How did he ever get a job on TV in the first place? Wooden, loud, talentless.

I do worry a little that next series (post lockdown) might see a return to the studio, and with that too much waffle, particularly from Paddy the imbecile, rather than just driving. Hopefully the feedback from this short series will encourage them to continue in a similar way... |
