For my taste, I do not find the GT63 attractive. The front has nice lines, but the side view just looks bulbous to me. I do think the interior is attractive.
The GT63S reminds me of when the Porsche Panamera came out. It drove well, was comfortable, but aesthetically it just felt off. I just could not appreciate the side profile enough to want the car. Same case with the AMG. |

The M5 Rules.
The F90 M5 restores the faith in its nameplate and the legacy that was challenged when the F10 was launched.
The question now is will the new M8 GC (or Coupe for that matter) take the M platform to a new level or be just another inflation in price chasing a more extravagant look and market? I was disappointed when I thought I was going for an upgrade from M5 to M6 GC and baring the amazing looks the car didn’t perform any better. |

I was able to sit in the Merc at press day at the NY auto show - the interior is beautifully done, really a step above BMW.
But, the next day I did UDE, and sat in the static display of the M5. I wasn't disappointed at all, and the Merc's interior isn't 50k better by any means. It's always been this way, and I'd rather own the more focused drivers car.

And CLS looks gorgeous to many eyes. 5 series looks like a brick luxury sedan to many. You ever heard the term "flying brick" before?

I had a crack at the GT 63 S, and I have to say it is in a different league compared to the M5. It is heavier but feels lighter and nimbler, it feels like a AMG GT S. It is a very special car.

Don't worry Vic, I will make a more thorough review later on. I am a little too busy right now. But if you get the chance to drive the GT 63 S do it just for the feel of the car. It feels a cut above the M5 and E63 S. But I still retain the opinion that it is stupidly priced, and whoever pays $185k or $3.5K is absolutely insane. I would say it is about 10-15% better than the cheaper alternativas (E63 S and M5). And it rides stiffly too, but less so than the E63
