I did it last week, works fine. There's an option for NONE as your credit card type. Make sure you're doing this on iTunes and not your phone.

Ok I found a different way that let me signup.

Got the app installed. The app I'm more interested in is local search. Seemed kind of stupid that BMW allows you to send map locations from google but not from the phone.

Yes.

The Email you enter is the email address you gave to BMW with setting up BMW Assist using the SOS button or otherwise called them. It is NOT the Email address to BMWUSA.com.

The password I had given just in March when I set it up didn't work. I was able to reset though through the site. I then went back in as "1234" then it let me setup a new password/pin.

The password is not the one you use from BMWUSA or for BMW Assist. It's set up by the dealer, hence why 1234 works sometimes. Others to try are...

335i
328i
bmw
your_last_name
0000
00000
12345

Mine was my last name but I tried them all before I even got to that point.

For all of those who are jailbroken:

You can also get the app without going through the whole UK iTunes account stuff. Just type in "BMW Group" into Installous on your iphone and search for it there. Someone was nice enough to upload it there for us

By the way...

Anyone know why I can only see my F10 on my account and not our x5m?

The x5m is even newer then the F10, just picked it up last Thursday I would think it would be there no?

In the description, I only see that it only works for 2011 BMW vehicles.. Is this true? Or will 07 335i work?

I got mine to work on my 2011 335is but seems like I can only lock/unlock the phone and find my car within 1.5 km. Does anyone have the option to flash their lights or honk their horn?

On my BMW Assist paperwork, my password was 'REQUEST PASSCODE'.

I have no idea where it came from, it was not what I had asked for when I set my Assist account up.

Changing your BMW Assist password will not work, the My BMW Remote App and BMW Assist use two different password databases. I initially went through changing the BMW Assist password as well and it didn't work. I eventually called my dealer and they told me it was my last name. I don't recall exactly how I typed it in, it was either all lowercase or the first letter was capital and rest lower.

If there's a way to find out where you car was originally purchased from by searching your VIN you can call the dealer up and ask them directly. It's a bit of a long shot but worth trying.

Another option - try your first name.

My Assist account was setup with my first name by my dealer, but on my initiation call from my car to Assist, I changed my password. When I download the app, I tried the new password I had given Assist, but it didn't work. When I typed in the original password the Dealer gave Assist, it worked fine.
