For those wondering / reading this down the line. I never landed up trying the 10.25" as all the digging I did, the vehicles fitted with it had Navigation Profession / 609 option. I landed up going with the 8.8" version and it works perfectly.

I did how ever run into an issue with CarPlay on Full Screen, where it stretched the original 6.5" image / split screen image instead of using the full resolution. After a little digging through the forum, I discovered that for full screen car play on iDrive 6, you need firmware version 03/21 or newer and I was still on an 07/18.

So for anyone in the future, if your CarPlay looks like this on Full Screen



and you want it to look like this



Then have your iDrive software updated to 03/21 or newer
