You can't code to start in Adaptive in Bimmercode, only Sport Individual and ECO Pro. You need a hire a coder to start in the other modes.

Not be argumentative but.. I was able to code in at start up the default to adaptive mode on my 2018 M550i via the easy menu.

Go into Body Domain Controller
Driving Mode
1) Driving Mode Default – Comfort
Choices available were Adaptive, Comfort, Eco Pro, Eco Pro Individual, Sport, Sport Individual.

I have been viewing the forum for a month or so. So have made use of all the great info shared. Picked up a well cared for lease return with only 14500 original miles. Well optioned custom order with original MSRP $92k. Still under warranty for another year.

Bimmer code is the biggest mod I have done so far. Love the Blue display dash from the Alpina and other tweaks.

Happy with performance as is for now.

List of a few minor adds nothing major yet... Weathertech Trunk liner (Spare tire specific), Wheel Locks, BMW M Performance floor mats, New air and cabin filters, Display Key (have remote park guess previous owner kept the key), Blendmount for V1, Bimmercode with Veepeak bluetooth interface.
