Porsche Mamba is good... And yes I have lots of detailing kit! Poorboys, Prima Amigo, Finishkare, Bilt Hamber etc etc, and all the machine equipment pads!

Hope you are enjoying the Hyacinth. I've just bought an Obsidian and I know I will regret it. Must keep it clean!
Sadly the only green I've seen which isn't a special order is the Audi RS green on some of the RS5 Sportbacks.

Look, no need to apologise. You later retracted it.

I was upset by what you said because I know the people I work with are nothing like that. I did actually type several replies I let sit for a while before deciding not to post them.

But we all sometimes say things we regret with hindsight or the passing of time. No hard feelings.

Always wanted a Java green M4, strange but it looked better on M4 than 3.

Changed my fave to British Racing Green today. Had a lovely drive to an outdoor PT session tonight.

Starting to love this car 200 miles up.

Funny how certain colours suit cars, don’t normally like that colour but do on that car ....

That looks stunning Chris. On the E type's 60th anniversary, a great tribute. Both utterly gorgeous.

I'm gently teasing you.

I'd love a RS5 Sportback in green.

I know. I'd take the piss out of me too.

RS5? higher cost, worse residuals. Get Mr TP to buy an RS4. Job done.

PS its a forum - minimum expectation, taking the piss, likely, making you feel stupid, most likely, thinking BMW make the best cars..... Well expectations are low

Does anyone on the off topic section other than me still actually drive a BMW? And certainly not seen anything to suggest that my next car will be.

There are a few, they havent reached changeover date yet...

sahajesh has just taken delivery of an X5 and Witney is just getting an X5 45e..... no comment on why (but if I was getting a co car it would be an X5 45e)

I've loved every BMW I have had and every time I look for a new car, they are high on my list - but I think I must have moved away from their target market as they rarely appeal....

The 540iT is probably the best car they make - and if I hadnt had an M5 saloon I may have bought one, but I decided a smaller car was more my thing....

There are so many good cars out there these days that we are spoilt for choice across BMW, JLR, Audi, Mercedes and Porsche. Allows you to get the best fit for your own specific needs / desires. I would include Tesla as I am big fan, but still struggle to reconcile the build quality with the price having looked at both new and used models.

Personally I still like the "blend" of the overall BMW driving package for the models which interest me. And I suppose I trust the brand to deliver....the reliability I have experienced over the last 10 years has been excellent. (That's the kiss of death for the new one)

I looked closely at the Merc GLE 350de this time and only discounted it because I could not get a test drive and I wanted the Petrol hybrid, not the diesel hybrid, before likely going full EV next time round.

But if I was to put a toy in the garage as a long term keeper for weekend use it would either be a Porsche or a Morgan.

However, some of the BMW pricing seems to have gone a bit mad in my view. And I think the volume production and discounting is now embedded and could be a problem for the brand.

Anyway, having said that, I am off to the dealer this afternoon to get the new car!!

I do (540iT) - as you well know, having had in helping me decide on and option it! That's 3 BMWs in a row though, 4 if you count my wife's old 120d which I drove for a while. Temptation to try something new will be strong next time. And while isleaiw1 obviously deserves all the abuse we can throw at him, I think he has picked a very fine car indeed in the RS4.
