I'm not a bmw guy, so the cs heritage is lost on me. I would consider this car if it came out with a fully adjustable suspension, cool body changes, forged motor, bigger turbos, and an aftermarket exhaust. If bmw would offer such a thing for under 150k, I would take a look.

The CS was sportier than Competition models, being M2, M3 or M4.
When the accent is put on vehicle's dynamics I wouldn't complain.
But releasing M Performance models like M135i and M235i GC, that is something that makes me 🤢

Sorry Pal, I just can't imagine a super heavy M5 trying to save weight by using for instance a cloth hook to close the door, seats that have holes, less 3m noise reduction insulation , etc.

Yup, while this makes sense philosophically, from a business standpoint, of course they're going to have all of these levels.

There are tons of people (relatively) who are willing to pay 95-115k for an M5. But the brand is strong enough that there are people who are also willing to pay 150k or more if it was special enough.

having these different lines is what let's them take advantage of the fact that there are people who are willing to pay much more than someone else, so they can capture as many sales as possible without throwing away the 20-40k per car from the people who would be willing to pay more.
