OMG...who cares? The car is faster than shit....and I personally never plan to take it out to a closed track or strip to race against other similar cars. In real world, every day driving (which is exactly what I bought this car for), there will never be controlled races like this on the road. Whoever gets the jump between lights when the other is probably not even racing, or gets on it sooner in a small empty stretch of road will be able to smirk and say "my wiener is bigger".

You guys are too easy. Once you all get over your bruised egos, you'll notice the tech. The E-Hybrid engine is coming to your M5. It can't own the saloon category without.

Yup, hybrid will be the next step for performance car manufacturers. However, from an aftermarket point of view, what can you change to go faster? I hope to buy the last of the 100% petrol cars and modify the hell out of it.

Well known Porsche lover C&D isn't overly impressed with the new flagship super saloon. 4 mph and .2s slower through the 1/4 than the F90. Must be the morbidly obese 5300+ lbs.

I am going tomorrow is pretty poopy DA - 3000 ft or so - and with the Pirelli's - but I am focusing on the MPH. If I am 126 MPH plus - it's just a bunch of RWD fun and I will have the PS4's on the car and it will put down the ET with a properly launched 60'. We shall see. |

Tuned versus stock - which is silly. I have a more complete post about this in the other thread on it. I have run 10.93 on the poopy pirelli's with a 1.7x 60' at 129.5 MPH. I would say that is pretty healthy for stock. And a very large car. |

Yeah we all loved that race... LOL.
It's pretty clear that E63s and M5 are close enough that conditions/tires/driver/specific car/etc can swing the race one way or another... maybe M5 has ever so slight edge. You shouldnt choose one or the other based solely on 1/4 mile time that's for sure. |

It's a shame this wasn't the Comp package since it's not quite an apple-to-apples in a best foot forward kind of way without it. I find the Porsche's relative slowness bewildering--all that gasoline power supplemented by electrification which is proving so successful on other brands for gap-filling during shifts and providing instantaneous grunt when launching... what happened Porsche? |

Sigh. My Mum could've launched the M5 better than the noob in the driver's seat. Perhaps they had it in rwd drive mode because beyond a monumental lack of talent, that's the only plausible explanation (unless it was actually broken).
