Most aren't. But if there isn't an open bar don't expect people to come to anything

I know a kid who has been rapping\mixing for a while now. He sounds pretty good but can I send you one of his songs for an honest opinion?

I like a lot. What I listen to most is edm, country and various sub genres of rock. Plus I'm a sucker for some empty pop from time to time

I would say he has talent. It needs a lot of work. to be honest it's kind of cliche but the structure is good. It's a little too Eminem to my ear. The production isn't that good. He would probably benefit from collaborating with a good producer who could get more out of him to see what's there. The problem if you want to call it that is that it's not unique or different. As a demo you could find similar tracks from rappers around the country. But there is talent to work with. He just needs to keep working at it to grow as an artist and work with other people. I get the sense that either he did this all himself or if he did collaborate he was the most talented person in the room.

Yeah. I assumed. He also seems to write in way to rap what people want to hear vs what he really wants to say. I get the feeling he doesn't believe what he's rapping. That could be him or it could be fixed by a good producer

What do you think is the "next big thing" in terms of fringe genres becoming more mainstream? Do you work for a large label, a smaller sublabel, or an indie label?

Since the age of 4 I sang to the rythm of the washing machine or tried to match the note of the hair dryer.

Then I went on sang like a little angel at the age of twelfe. Never had in mind my voice would ever be something special.
It took me the age of 18 to realize my voice had an absolute unique color that very little artist to this day have and only just one had, who unfortunately passed away in the year 2009.
May he, in all respect for all what he have done to safe me and many other soul's rest in Peace.

To come to my question:
By the age of 23 I began singing everywhere ( wedding's/ various gig's/ shop opening's etc. ) since then I tried to find my place in the music industry and never got an reply back, by anyone.
Here's the question:
Is it true that only if you have an celebrity as an relative or come from an celebrity recommendation, you can get popular in the music business?

I tried it and I feel like I never really had a glimpse of an chance, because of mentioned, to get invited by an record lable.

Thank's

I don't see a fringe genre like we did with the last revival,of modern folk. It seems to me moving to cross genre collaborations. I don't work for s label. It's hard to describe. It's a not for profit and music trade organization. But I work with all the labels , artists, producers, engineers etc

Find a track or album you like and reach out to thr person who produced it. Their resume is made up of their projects. If you like the sound and vibe of the record it's worth taking s meeting to see if the artist and producer mesh. Just because both are talented doesn't mean they will agree or even like each other
