Not a big difference at all... nothing like between and E63 and E63s. Still very happy with my choice and have done most of these changes to my "base" M5 already while having enjoyed it for a full 6 months before they start delivering these.

Not much we didn't know here already.

1. Rumored HP figures vascillated between 17 and 25 hp. Unfortunately it came down on the 17 hp side.

2. Torque appears to be the same figure (consistent with other recent comp packs), but with a "wider torque band"

3. Wheels aren't a slam dunk, but are an improvement. I can see them MAYBE looking great with a drop. But as pictured, I'm a little underwhelmed.

4. The obligatory black bits are here.

5. I think i prefer the base M5 rear apron compared to the wider comp pack apron that spans the entire back.

6. .1 seconds faster to 60 is impressive, but something tells me it will be more than .1 when they do real world instrumented tests.

7. BMW's roll out of this competition package is uniquely disappointing. Rather than wait til mid life cycle (like it has done in previous gens), or roll it out simultaneously with the release of the base M car - BMW released the Comp package just months after orders for the Base M opened, to the detriment of early adopters. They were neither given the option of buying comp package, or having the comfort of knowing their cars wouldn't be immediately become outdated. A very poorly thought out roll out. Or worse yet maybe not even "thought out" but the result of BMW's failure to meet internal deadlines.

Aren't there two types of M5 buyers? Ones that want an unassuming executive cruiser, and the other that want a more aggressive super sedan?

Totally agree. BMW struck the correct balance for a marketing move. Not enough power increase to piss me off as an early buyer, but enough to sell “the next best thing “. If it had been 675hp and 625 Tq, I would have placed another order. A stage 1 controller on the base M5 will do that.

1- Very odd/upsetting that BMW would launch this option so quickly after the F90's debut. I feel sorry for those M5 buyers who bought their cars already and care for this upgrade. Some early F90 buyers won't care- but I know some people will be pissed off by this.

I had my M4 for over a year and a half before the ZCP option was offered...but 3-4 months into its life cycle??

2-Don't care for the rear bumper- I much rather prefer the stock diffuser, or whatever will soon be released aftermarket- but still need to see it in person or live pictures, not press release.

3- I won't pass judgement on the wheels just yet. I need to see one in person and lowered. A nice drop fixes everything.

4- Give me one of these, in Chalk White with full Amaro brown interior, all the bells and whistles and whatever H&R has to offer to lower it. I can't wait to place my order.

I have yet to see an M5 on the road here in SoCal. Very excited to see one.

I’m guessing seats stayed the same?

Trying to decide if I’m a fan of the wheels or not. Is the front of the wheel machined or shiny silver? Looks like the inner parts of the wheel are gloss black? I can’t tell.

17hp and 7mm lower and a few other minor items - there is hardly any difference. I am not pissed off, I am relieved. Here in Aus we get M seat belt, mats, sports exhaust standard in the normal car. The comp pack is apparently $30k more.

This has to be the Shortest time gap ever from base to Comp package. Is this the new standard for all M cars or just an M5 thing?

Looks like BMW is copying Mercedes to make the BMW M a sub-brand like AMG...
