Most likely fuel pump then. Hopefully you're still in warranty

After BMW got involved, i was told its normal

So i guess no worries for now.

Find a service advisor that will get it repaired for you. An extra $100 or a bottle of nice liquor for your SA might make a difference

Do the same process with the hood open and see if it comes from the alternator. As far as I know these cars engage and disengage for performance reasons. Mine does a similar sound on cold starts and it quiet down once it warms up and revs go down. Thats what I tell myself since it only makes sense due to all the noises and whistles.
So far no issues or codes. Runs awesome.
