My current lease is up end of the year and don't want to miss the chance to place an order to buy this time.
If you want a custom order, you need to get in front of a salesperson by the end of the summer.

And hopefully, we'll know more about the schedule of US deliveries of the G50, and if that works for your lease end date, switch to it. G20 will immediately feel obsolete once people see NA0 and G50 in real life.

Will the G69 ALPINA arrive a year after the G67 like the G72 7 series will after the LCI or will the G67 and G69 SOP be the same ?

BMW has officially informed that NA0 i3 SOP is in August, which is odd, because usually summertime SOP for such non-SUV-models is in July. Any special reason for this August SOP (and why this list shows July)? Currently they are producing pre-series 2 (the last pre-series before official SOP for mass production) for NA0 in Munich plant.

The "natural fiber" roof has been made standard for ZA0 M3, with sunroof becoming an available option.
Wow, this NA5 iX3 M60 delay must be a very rare case that BMW delays some model so late before originally planned SOP (SOP which was known already for a couple of years I think), I suppose due to technical difficulties (and maybe also money)? Never earlier heard about similar intermediate version, this is so strange. They have had years of time to develop it, looks like somebody failed in the development project. Absolutely just madness from BMW. I really hope that NA0 i3 M60 will not be delayed from SOP 3/27, do you see any information regarding that?

Any hints that the natural fiber roof would be offered as an option for NA0 i3 (at least for M60)? Many thanks.

Is there any word yet (whether official or amongst the grapevines) of BMW ditching the 'i' in EV models? With some models seemingly going EV exclusive (1, 2, 4, X4 etc) it seems unnecessary to keep the 'i' in the names much longer.

BMW taking 40 years to remove the i from fuel injected models and only finally doing so to avoid confusion with electric models makes me find that very unlikely, but then again they're doing so with the M models so who knows.

Garage List
BMWs new model naming is just confusing, especially with the EV M-models that seems to ditch the i-branding completely.

They should do something like this:
M350i = gas
M350ie = gas PHEV
M350d = diesel
M350de = diesel PHEV
M350e = electric
M350h = hydrogen

Based on the most recent x7 update, will the US receive an Alpina 40 ? Your post only mentions non USA for this trim.

I hope that the Natural Fiber stuff doesn't make its way onto the G84 M3, hoping that stays the current style carbon fiber. ynguldyn any indications on if the carbon fiber is going completly away?

ynguldyn is there a manual CS or other special edition vehicle that is about to be unveiled in the next few weeks? I’ve seen images floating around on instagram which appear to show both a manual with CS center console but don’t see any mention of this on the initial post

ynguldyn Is the way to interpret the G65 revised plan that the US won't get the M60e, and will only get the 50e and M60?

That's what it looks like right now. Just like M760e.

Sounds like a marketing decision based on emphasizing the new mega-battery EV version of the iX5:
"12/26: Adds US X5 40, non-US X5 M60e xDrive, all markets X5 50e xDrive, iX5 60 xDrive"

That makes sense. Bummer. I was hoping the M60e would be our next purchase when our 50e comes off lease.

It probably has more to do with they expect “performance” buyers in the US to consistently choose the M60 V8 over the M60e I6 hybrid.

Good point. But some may like the 568HP available with iX5.

ynguldyn do you know if and when the new M Ignite will make it into production for US G8X cars? Is it the same time as Europe, July 2026?

There is a second explanation for the cancellation of the new-generation 8 Series(G75/G76/G77/G93): it is because Alpina plans to build its own vehicle based on it

The third explanation: This is a one-off concept car to show off at a car show and no (or at least no meaningful) production run is planned. The 50-ish limited run for the Skytop weren't worth mentioning in the top post either.

Yeah, BMW’s new naming strategy really feels all over the place. Dropping the “i” for electric M models just makes things even more confusing.

There never was a "real" electric M so they are not dropping anything, they just decide how to name things going forward. And I believe we have not yet heard the final official names of the upcoming ICE and BEV M3 anyway, so they can still change their minds.
