Flat-bottom M3/M4 Steering Wheel - installation success?

Has anyone installed the new flat-bottom steering wheel from the M3/M4 on the M5?

I'd like to install the carbon fiber trim version of that wheel...

With iDrive 7, I suspect we cannot have that functionality...

You can always order a custom steering wheel where the heating button is hidden

This is why I'm always broke! This topic should be removed! I can't do this anymore! (Joking)

Is the M3/M4 wheel the same diameter? Are the connections the same?

I also want this, but I don't want to pay someone to Frankenstein multiple wheels together.

Yes, but missing “heating” switch due to lci m3/4 uses idrive 8.5, everything controlled through touchscreen….

I also have the same disease...

I suspect that the wheel from the M3/M4 LCI won't work due to issues with the Driving Assistance Pro package integration with iDrive 7 vs 8.5...in addition to the missing heating switch...I hope someone smarter than me figures it out...

OR.......

You could just get the official OEM one for the M5.

Granted the bottom is not as flat as the ones you guys are looking at, but still flat.

And yes, even with the official OEM wheel, you still loose the heated wheel function.

Do you have a source for this trim/cover with the slot for the heating switch? Thanks!

Looking at the AliExpress ones. They look good. But curious if anyone actually fitted one and the impressions. I would want to retail ACC and Heat.

Not the m3/4 version, but I got an aliexpress carbon wheel. Pretty pleased with the quality, no more lane assist, but it was borderline useless anyways. Heat only on alcantara sections. Would definitely recommend buying cheap chinese steering wheel.
