I’m not dropping $280K on this. I’ve got a handful of cars, but certainly not a dozen or more like more than a few members here. Maybe if I did, I’d be marginally closer to being a buyer of this example. But again, it’s not me. I’m an enthusiast for sure, but not quite a collector.

Fair enough, I am not the buyer for that car. It would take a die hard BMW and/or E39 enthusiast to spend that kind of money for a E39 M5. Being that you are "Certainly an M5 Guy" you would be more of the buyer for this car than I would (provided the price was way more reasonable haha)

Personally the F90 M5 CS is my absolute favorite BMW and if money was no object it's the first BMW I'm buying hands down. I think the E39 M5 is quite cool and I wouldn't mind owning one if I had the funds to buy one and maintain it.

Alas an F90 Comp will do me just fine, I can continue enjoying the E39 through other mediums such as my copy of NFS Hot Pursuit II on my PS2.
