The Edmund link was interesting for sure. Something that jumps out a little bit is that those are older tires, tech has moved on a bit from there.

I've had AS4s over at Porsche, and they worked fine, or at least seemed to, but I did not test them in any objective way. Certainly I didn't notice a lack of wet traction, and I'm in the Seattle area; they faced a fair bit of wet.

It's an interesting question and I thought it likely we're not the first to ponder it, so I did a quick search. Because we're comparing good summer tires like the PS4 I searched for that versus the AS4 which seems like a fairer comparison than a no-name versus a PS4.

To much typing to try and summerize those and I think anyone that would bother to read what I wrote would rather actually read the comparisons anyway so I'm going to settle for leaving the links.

After I put them on I really never gave them another thought which is good. I don’t drive a lot. Think I put about 4K on them so far and they look same as new. They may not be for everyone but I’m guessing they would work just fine for the majority. Sure I push it sometimes but not once did I feel like the tires gave way before I did.

If you upgrade from 20 inch Mpsort wheels to 22 inch M sport wheels do you need to buy a TPS sensor or something? or just make sure you balance the tires?

Yes you will need to buy the sensors. Should be able to get 4 of them under $200.

Anyone have any issues with these tires so far? I've order a set for my X3 but just noticed that there was a recall for some Arroyos a few months ago: https://bobistheoilguy.com/forums/th...ers-nb.376450/

Saw on Reddit someone that works at Mavis Tires complaining of blown out sidewalls with the 1TB plant code? https://www.reddit.com/r/tires/comme...uality_issues/

I’m no tire expert but the alignment looks way way off based on tread wear.

Yes, but they were saying they've had about 10 customers come in with blow out sidewalls for tires that came from the 1TB plant (which is where the Arroyo's are all produced). Hoping they've fixed any QC issues since the recall.

Garage List
I went with the Arroyo tires and would not recommend these tires to anyone. I drove them about 2400 miles and took them off. They were fine initially, however after about 1000 miles, I started to feel flat spots even though this is my daily driver. Also, the road noise became unbearable and it felt like the tires were out of balance. I went switched to the Pilot Sports and will get OE approved winter tires for next season.
