need help please
so awhile back me 335i started going into limp mode, I checked everything from the charge pipe to the turbos but could not find anything. for clarification it’s only going into limp mode when i accelerate fast and around 2,000 rpms (happens maybe twice a month.) I finally took it into the shop, they deemed it to be the valvetronic system and i got the valvetronic actuator and the eccentric shaft done, thankfully the extended warranty covered it. 2 weeks later and it’s driving great but today it just went into limp mode again today and i’m at a loss. Please give me insight on what I should do next.

So, I had this problem with my M Roadster and its S54. Way different from your N55. Shop put in a new high pressure fuel pump and filter. Limp mode disappeared.
I would hate to throw money at this problem without a clear diagnosis. Is your shop reading the codes that surely the limp mode must be throwing? |

I would hope they are reading the right codes.
I should also add i got a low air pressure code when the limp mode was on, I brought it in so they could run a smoke test and check the turbos. they never mentioned anything being broken they only came back to me with the valvetronic problem. they did say they were not able to recreate the limp mode when test driving. Hopefully this will help, hit me with questions thank you. |
