Anyone got their car under MSRP in the Seattle area?
I am planning to order an early '09 M3 Sedan probably in July/August for delivery in October/November.
I have started talking to the local BMW dealerships (Seattle, Bellevue & Fife). So far, I am feeling that they are not really ready to budge on MSRP even though it seems that their '08 M3 have are sitting on the lots (particularly Seattle and Fife). Anyone had any luck on buying an M3 under MSRP? I would be happy with $1500 to $2000 under. Thanks.

So I take it everyone in Seattle bought at MSRP then.

Any luck on your negotiations? I'm a couple months behind you on ordering, so I haven't talked price yet. So far talking with Vince at BMW Seattle. I'll check out Bellevue before ordering, of course, but Fife is a bit of a haul for me.

I paid MSRP. Its pretty common to pay MSRP if you order a custom config. So far most people here ordered there cars rather than buying from dealer inventory. Why would they discont a car they have not invested any money in. Every day an unsold car sits on there lot they are losing money on and are far more receptive to making you a deal.
If you do a national serach for M3s you will find 1500 or so MT cars for sale and less than 200 M-DCTs. So if you want a MT your chances are much better that you will get it under MSRP. Just keep watching the local dealers web inventory untill they have several models that match your needs and make them an offer. You would be suprised how motivated they are to move cars off there lots |

Thanks for the replies. I am on the 2009 list at Bellevue and am planning to talk to BMW Seattle soon. I have not talked price yet since I am waiting to put a deposit down until the 2009 MY details come out. So far, I have been verbally told MSRP.
Incredibly, I went to Fife twice to look the E90 M3 and finally sent an email to the salesperson for a quote based on an as-built car. It's been 1.5 week and still no response. I am assuming they don't care about my business...

I had the exact same experience with BMW NW. Finally heard back but I think it was a couple weeks later.
Given that the dealers want to get rid of their '08's on the lots I think it's unlikely that anyone will deal for less than MSRP on an '09 at least until the '08's are gone. |

I just checked Bellevue on Autotrader and they have serveral on the lot. You have a better chance negotiating for one there.

I went to Bellevue on Sat to test drive the DCT. My salesperson told me the reason they ordered so many M3 is because of the MY change. After this batch, they won't get any until the MY09 arrive, sometimes in October. Makes sense to me.

I may have to swing by there next week. Looks like they have an Interlagos sedan in stock. I've been wanting to see the E90 in this color, and a chance to drive the DCT, too.

I drove their IB M3 -- it looks great, much better than I thought it would. In fact, I would have bought it except for one major problem ... it has a sunroof.

Does anyone know what kind of deals they are giving at Bellevue with that many M3s on the lot?

I bought a e90 M3 from BMW NW on Suday (picked up on Monday). I paid roughly ~3k under MSRP. There are deals to be had and their service was great.
I probably didn't shop around as much as I could have, but my guess is that the dealers are content to sell at 1k-2k over invoice (at least on '08 models). Last edited by ITLMOVE; 07-23-2008 at 09:47 AM.. Reason: typo |

I really don't think that the '09 E90 will sell much better than the '08 and consequently, I would expect the same kind of deal. What color did you get?

Melbourne Red. First mod was 20% tint on the sides and back. Second 'mod' is replacing the rear tow hook cover that seems to have gone missing. $15 for the part, $50 for the paint |

So any updates on anyone getting below MSRP M3's? I'm thinking about trading in my RS4 for a E92 DCT. Any straight shooting dealers or sales persons you guys can recommend? The DCT would just be so much more usable on a daily bases.

I ordered on 12/07. Did not get under MSRP, but When I got the car on Juan, they gave me free window tin and some other thing... Total about 1000+ free things... That's all I got...

A few tips...
Quote:
2) Bring $10k in traveler's checks in $500 increments - they don't wanna play, add another $500... I know a salesman at Bellevue BMW very well and he has told me that, while they don't have as much wiggle room as they did with the E46, they ARE making a profit on the E9x's.** 3) If they are dicks, walk That being said, ping Joe or David Ly (sp?) at BMW Bellevue. Both great salesmen and very honest. **He only told me this because I bluntly told him that most likely, I will never have one |

MSRP for me from BMW Seattle, but that was negotiated back in December 2007 for a March delivery. I was just thankful they didn't stick on their dealer markup. Oh, how things have changed.
BTW, BMW Bellevue and BMW NW are a bunch of wankers. Even if they had the last M3 on the planet, I never will buy anything from them again, ever. |

I recently purchased a 2008 coupe with DCT. I purchased it at BMW Seattle for $4k off MSRP. I do think I could have gotten a better deal if I had more time.
I think you can get with in $1k of invoice if you buy what they have in stock. I don't think you'll get that big of a discount on ordered vehicles though. |
