Used 2018-2019 M5s in 2024
Hi Everyone,
I'm new to this sub and looking to upgrade my high school car finally since 2014. I've been looking at 2018 to 2019 models and due to the car bubble bursting and these M5 prices are coming down pretty nice for buyers. I've been shopping around between the 40k to 60k mileage and I do have intentions of modifying the car at max up to stage 2 (catless downpipes, etc.). Is there anything i should really look out for that isn't the common issue such as coolant expansion leaks & low pressure fuel pump? Thanks, |

Those damn 600 hp cars that dyno at about 620 at the wheels are so ridiculously slow that they need to be modified before you even drive them. Is there anything that goes bad on them ? Apart from bending rods when approaching 800hp and coolant tank not much.

Great deals now on the out of warranty earlier models with higher mileage! 2018 can be found for as low as $50k with under 50k miles. Incredible cars that more enthusiasts can now afford!

Other than what you have mentioned, if you keep it stock that is about all that you need to worry about. Stage 2 with no warranty on the other hand....... |

depends what your definition of stage 2 is. catless dp are certainly not going to hurt anything. if anything the reduction of heat alone will help immensely. But if it were me, if i were doing downpipes then i would simultaneously add turbo blankets and heat tape. also replace as much plastic parts as you can. wrap all the coolant lines with sleeves etc. the coolant lines that run through the hot v are going to fail if they haven't started leaking already.

I'm also based on the US where we can fight for warranty claims. Generally if the dealer/shop cannot deem the aftermarket parts at fault, your warranty still applies. |

Doing some research I see the hot V setup causes a lot of heat and I'd like to help reduce that via mods and also get some better sound over stock |
