How long do/have your P4S's last?
I'm at about 9800 miles and I haven't had them checked yet but I think I'm at around 2-3/32's in the rear. Front I think I'm in the 4-5/32's range (I don't have a gauge, just based on the penny trick if it's accurate) Granted I have had a little bit fun but does this seem like excessive wear in the rear? Pretty sure I've read that P4S's in this size start at around 8-8.5/32's
Last maintenance I had was around 5800-6000 miles if I remember and the service adviser had claimed I was at 6/32's in the rear and if I'm being honest. I beat the hell out the car far more before that maintenance than I have since that maintenance and I'm genuinely surprised the tire being as low as they seem. My passenger side rear to my surprise was flat when I came out this morning but couldn't spot a nail even with my buddy laying back and looking for one as I slowly rolled forward. I'm gonna have it towed to my dealer and I have the tire/wheel protection package but I'm starting to worry if they aren't going to replace the tire because it's top worn down when I genuinely didn't think they were that bad anyways. I was planning on getting like 3k more miles out of these before I replaced them. R8 I owned before this (which I beat the piss out of) needed tires around the 13,000-14,000 mile mark and it had P4S's |

I have 16k on mine and they still have a little tread. I’ll put my all seasons on when temps are closer to freezing. Might buy new summer tires in the spring.

I have the Pzeros, but I'm down to 8/32 (front) and 6/32 (rear) at 5500 miles already. And my tread wear per 1000 miles is increasing. That makes sense because now I actually use 1st for most standing starts instead of 2nd. I was trying to hold back to keep the car feeling fast, but oh well. I think the Michelins are similar, but the Pzeros new start at 9/32 for the 275s and 8/32 for the 285s.
I too will be putting the A/S tires on in a month or 2. It looks like my summers will only last ~1.75 warm seasons which is bit annoying since I don't want to bring the car in for tires. The rears should wear faster if you are hard on the throttle since the car is RWD biased. When the rears are done I'm replacing all 4 since I want the Pilots. After that, I hope to get 2 rear sets for every front set like I did on my 09 V. On my V (RWD only) my average summer tire life was 16k, the all-seasons 12k (since they would spin much easier). I expect worse on the M5 because standing starts are easy with an AWD auto. With the manual V I would let the clutch out and get moving, then roll on the throttle to not spin. |

There is a safety line once that can be felt with fingers once that reaches flat with tread, you're basically at end life.
it is on the the tire it self google it. |

Oh yeah I'm pretty much there on the rear lol. Still just surprised I went through that much tire in that frame. I have read though that actually newer P4S's only actually have 7-7.5mm of tread depth do there's even less tire than usual. |

It really boils down to how hard you drive and push your tires. I know guys who have run the same set of PS4s for 30k miles before replacing, although I doubt I'd push it that far. If you're mostly just DD'ing you should be able to get 20k, maybe even 25k, safely. If your drive hard a lot, and/or track your car, I wouldn't expect more than 10k-15k.
My Pirelli P Zeros only lasted 15k and that was just DD'ing, no track, so I'm hoping my new PS4s will go ~25k. This is the first set of PS4s I've had because I drove a truck for over a decade prior to buying my M5C, but I had PS2s back on my Mustang and Supra twenty years ago and I'd usually get around ~20k out of a set. |

I have about 17k on mine. Will probably get another 1-2k miles.

I guess I've just been beating the piss out of my tires than lol. In my defense though, the roads in my area are shit when it comes to debris and gravel on the road. I've already gone through 2 windshields sinceI got the car in November because of rocks being thrown up.
Found out today the warranty company didn't even question anything. Told my service provider to just send them an invoice once the tire is done. Was tempted to tell my service provider to put a nail in my other rear tire |

11k from mine. No track time but lots of enthusiasm in the mountains. Installed MPS-AS4's; have 8k on them & negligible wear.
