2023 BMW X7 key fob

My wife has a 2022 X7. We were at the dealership for my car service and they showed us the new X7. The key fob for it looks way better than our current key fob. Does anyone know if those could be purchased and programmed for the older models? My 2020 M5C and her 2022 X7.

Eventually there will be aftermarket look alike where they take the guts from your key and a shell that looks like the new key and combine em

I actually dislike the new key fobs. Too much black plastic.

First time seeing it here as well. The M stripe version is gorgeous. I always thought the F90 key was very muted and the M variant was not so distinguished from the standard fob. Mine lives in a blade style leather flip out cover anyways so I don't really see it, but I'd still love to have that new one!

I like it. The current key fob is the same as all the other vehicles. You get a little more “metal”? but nothing really distinguishes it. It also still upsets me that I can’t remote start my car nor does it automatically lock/unlock the doors 😡

Agreed about the little more "metal." It's big step up over the standard old fobs. That's the one that looks like too much plastic if you ask me. I can see the M stripes on mine even in the case, but not much else.

Remote start obviously doesn't come on pre-LCI models, but I thought at least Comfort Access did? I must be remembering wrong that my previous pre-LCI had it.

2023, I'd like the keyfob to be.......SMALLER....you know the size of an old school key? Big enough for the buttons and the battery and not much more.

My wife has a 2023 X7. Here is a pic of my 2023 M5 key next to hers. The new X7 key is a bit thicker and slightly heavier. About the same length

I don't understand why anyone would want a bigger, heavier, key. The current one already feels funny in my pocket. I want something smaller and lighter, but with full functionality.

It def has comfort access but it might not have the walk away door lock and the proximity unlock. (Aka you might have to physically use buttons on handle to unlock and lock and it's more of just a normal keyless than fully automatic)

I confused the comfort access and proximity lock and interchanged the terms incorrectly. You are right, the pre-LCI did not have the proximity/walk away locking. Love that feature on my LCI!

Good luck putting any type of key ring on the 2023 X7 key. BMW once again proving they they focus on form over function with this one.
