Having had both, I still prefer the 789s from a look stand point. I'm not a fan of solid black wheels, and do like the polished metal on the 789s. My 706s were the same on my 2018, but there were/are a couple of things I didn't like about these wheels.
First, when it came to cleaning them it was an absolute PITA. The 789s are way easier to clean, which settles my OCD. LOL Second, there's something about the way that the spokes line up when coming into the center of the hub. The symetry to me just looks way off. Don't get me wrong, the 789s have this issue as well (in my eyes) but less noticeable. See in the pic below what I am talking about. Again, my OCD knows no bounds and its my personal preference to have the 789s the way they came from the factory. I would stick by this even if they were cast and heavier than the 706s. Just my .02. |

Huge difference. The LCI suspension upgrades were significant on the Comp versions. Ride quality was noticeably improved. After 22,500 miles in a pre-LCI base I swapped out to an LCI Comp - in a heartbeat.

Two Tone 706M wheels and a sun roof. Best combo.
I have two sets. One for winter, one for summer. Mike
