Fair enough and I am not arguing or getting defensive just so you know. It's good information to help others decide. This is just my point of view. On stock, I originally ordered the US lights from getbmwparts but they informed me that it was going to be at least two months. This was a few weeks ago, so I cancelled, which in hindsight was a good thing as Vic told me to get the Euros. The Euros are only two weeks out currently. In terms of cost, $1,000 for the US plus tax, $1100 for Euro, no tax, so it is a wash.

I get the illegal factor of the amber, which is ironic as it was not long ago blinkers HAD to be amber in the US and E38/E39 owners went to great lengths to remove any hint of amber. I never got dinged for my clear corners on those cars, so I am not really worried about having an amber blinker now (that only lights up amber and is red while off). Yeah, it's a smaller overall flash than the US, but it's plenty visible. Good enough for Europe.

On the wire, it's a wire that is supposed to be there on Euro cars and has a location on the pin connector, so it's not like some kind of mod, but it is adding $150 to my install over the US lights. You could also jump it from the inner to the outer, but that is something that is not stock and feels mickey mousy. They will be running it from the module.

Look what just came in…haha. Here we go. I got Vic scheduled to code around 10pm tonight so I'll hopefully be rolling into work looking fresh tomorrow. Lol fingers crossed.

Totally. Ya I ordered on 27 Jul and they arrived today. They had to come in from Germany. Was quoted end of August but Christmas came early as I got a fedex alert last night of a shipment arriving today.

Agree. I personally don't care about the "illegal" part. I've smoked, cleared, and completely removed all amber markers on every car I've ever owned haha. For me it was purely a timing thing. I'm installing mine as we speak.

So some differences so far. I have a halogen reverse bulb…and I have 8mm nuts not 10 securing the lights.

Just installed the inner lights. They came with 8mm bolts as well so not sure what's with the design change and maybe a typo? Nonetheless not a big deal. I also had issues getting the water tight drip tray thing to attach to the inner lights. I recommend popping out the white plastic bolt thing that is left behind in the trunk. The new ones come with one attached anyway. Much easier to pop it into place than sliding the female piece under th male bolt head. Also I recommend not bolting in the light until after you've secured the seal. There's a hooking system that was difficult for me to attach with the light being bolted in already. Once I had the weather seal attached then I bolted in the inner lights.

Edit: outer lights were 10mm and inner 8mm

Now I just need to find something small enough to stick in this pin hole to release the wires.

Ironically, I just got my tracking number delivery August 17. Ordered yesterday, so I should be done with everything by end of next week.

A small paperclip will push them right out. So about an hour of work so far?

Ya unfortunately we don't have any so my wife's gonna bring some home from her work. Haha. I did find a spook or gauge wire that I should be able to make stiff enough. We will see. But yes only about an hour. I did confirm I didn't need the extra drip trays that go along the outside of the trunk. They're exactly the same as what was already there. Although I did break a clip when removing them so it didn't hurt to have back ups lol.

Ended up dremeling a door pin that we use to unlock interior doors down to size. Worked like a charm. Done. Now just need coding.

I had 4 wires.

All done. Did not know this coding would erase other coding. Vic was able to get some of the items back. Couldn't remember everything that was coded. I do know I had adaptive cruise control coded to default to closest distance and to ignore steering wheel sensors. Vic did not know how to code those as of yet. But they look great and an easy hour of my time.

That does look amazing. Thanks for the confirm on the wires, part of me is hoping there are 5 for me as I've seen some people post they had 5. Would save me $150 bucks on install.

Good to know on coding. The only coding I have has been done by me with Bimmercode. I am surprised Vic didn't know how to code shortest distance ACC, pretty sure that's a common ask. Was the few things my list that BC can't do.

BTW, how you liking our QB? We miss him.
