Tire temp
Recently returned from a 3 hour trip and about halfway through I pulled up my tire temps for fun on the highway and noticed my front driver side tire was reading at 102-110f throughout the trip. My other tires were reading 90-93f. Sun was shifting around the car the entire trip so not to blame there. Air temp was mid 80’s. I have pretty squeaky brakes and especially notice it in the driver front. I’ve had it in for the brakes and the reply is always “that’s just an m car” …. Which is fine, but the higher temp was sort of odd. Any ideas? Is 110f even worth worrying about? Thank you!

The only time I've ever paid attention to my tire temps was when I had a nail in one of them a few months ago. I was watching the PSI of the tire with the nail. It constantly was 6-7 degrees hotter than the other 3 tires. The other three were the same or within one degree of each other. Maybe keep an eye on if you have a leak/PSI change in that tire.

Yeah, I don’t worry about the temps too much, other than as an interest just to see how it correlates with pressure. You just have to assume that, especially if you are cornering, the temps are going to rise a bit. 110F I would not consider to even be very very hot, considering the stresses—especially after 3 hrs worth of driving—that tires have to endure.

Lots of posts/threads on this subject. Search is your friend (or even Google for that matter).
There’s a radiator by the driver-side front tire that causes temperatures slightly above the rest of the tires. |

that said, you might need to replace your "consumables" (tires, brakes, pads, fluids, etc) more often. |
