Very common. Haven't had a BMW with mirrors closing symmetrically I think ever.

Curious here too... but if individual paint could effect the lane change assist, crazier things could happen.

No, it's not related, I just think the full leather is beautiful. The mirror angle is different when in normal position, that is due to driver being on one side of the car, so when they fold they have different angle too.
