Interesting start to the season by the look of it, Max on pole from Lewis.

Bottas in third and a shame to see Perez will only start 11th in his Red Bull debut.

Vettel was a bit unlucky but could he carry on his stinker again 😬

Nice of Mercedes to take out the sandbags from the 5 days practice but Max might well run them really close.

I'm just pleased that there's more teams looking quite competitive. Should be a fascinating race right through the grid.

That was an epic opening race.

I've no idea how Hamilton stayed ahead. He is the complete driver.

Bodes well for the whole season to come.

Looks really competitive through the field too.

Yes, a great race to start the new season - another 22 like that will do just fine!

In pre-season testing - which was admittedly abridged this year - it looked like Mercedes might have been struggling a bit against the Red Bulls but it seems they've closed the gap significantly prior the first race. Based on free practice and qualifying it still felt like RBR had a slight advantage but a combination of strategy and an excellent drive from Hamilton turned it round - more of that will hopefully make for an interesting battle this season!

Did you notice how out of breath he was at the end?! He was definitely pushed hard.

Lando and Perez were also outstanding today. Shame to see Vettel make another daft mistake though, I was hoping he would have re-found himself again. Mazepin was distinctly underwhelming but interesting to see just how much DC doesn't like him with his comments, some of which I doubt is down purely to driving ability.

Nothing more appropriate than that stupid Vanguard Investment advert coming on straight after LH takes the checkered flag ✌🏻to all the doubters

I was shocked to see Mercedes make a proactive pit stop

, when I am normally pulling my hair out watching them stay out as a Safety Car freebie is taken by all the other teams

Now we just need GR to replace VB
