Which manufacture for carbon fiber mirror caps.

I am contemplating installing carbon fiber mirror caps on my M5. I have been researching the various manufactures that make carbon fiber mirror caps. I am almost 90% decided I will go with BMW OEM CF mirror caps. They are the most expensive at $425 for each side ( $850 total). Any recommendations from owners?

I purchased my F90 in August of 2018 and it already had the following CF parts (BMW): rear diffuser, rear spoiler, side blades, and front splinter. They still look brand new. Hence the reason to stick with BMW CF parts.

Akrapovic is what I have. M OEM is a great choice so you're good there too. Even though these are two most expensive choices, it'll pay off with fitment and you'll have no issue with CF not being what you expect, etc.

Thanks for the complement on the color. I had a RW Carbon rear diffuser I bought from them for my 2015 M3 (F80). The first one they sent me the carbon fiber had separation (a gap) between the carbon fiber on the top leading edge that traveled from the drivers side to the passenger side. I provided pictures to RW Carbon and they exchanged the diffuser. The second had no issues. Since the mirror caps are in plain view unlike the rear diffuser positioned low and at the back of the car. I have concerns for the mirror caps and want to go with a better quality CF mirror cap.

That's a valid point. I forgot to mention RKP. Check out IND they carry those, and I've heard they were really good quality and made in USA, cheaper than OEM.

Don't recommend RKP. They just overlay over oem plastic and it sticks out quite a bit. Not an oem look up close as the turn signal doesn't sit flush anymore.

Useless question (sorry): OP, is your car Atlantis Blue? One of my favorite (like top 5) individual colors!

EDIT: Oh wait, nevermind. It's probably Snapper Rocks Blue... which is also gorgeous.

It seems some say it is hard and others have stated it easy. Not the best answer but that is what I have found by researching. Here is a link were members talk about the removal of the stock mirror caps: https://f90.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1724171

Not particularly. The worst part Is getting the two clips released to let the paintable portion reMoved. Glass comes out in 5 seconds. There's a DIY on YouTube.

OEM or Akra if fitment and weave is important to you.
Pricey but you get what you pay for. I sent back a set of RK, haven't gotten around to ordering the BMW set but will
