Surprised it took so long to get the US Configurator on the site. Just built mine this morning, looks like Tartufo is the same price as on the ‘20.
I opted for black calipers

CCB is nice for sure, until you need to replace the rotors and pads (or try to sell it to someone else who will need to do so). stopping power is the same on both afaik. Sure CCB is great from a dust perspective and tracking the car (i.e. less fading), but i can clean a lot of dust for far less than what CCB costs, both up front and when its time to replace parts =) |

Sold on CCBs
Quote:
I just sold my 2014 F10 M5 with CCB's, and my discs and rotors looked brand new after 7 years. I am not sure there is any need to ever replace CCB's with normal use. I heard all sorts of negatives back when I purchased them about rock chips, squeaking, expensive replacement not covered by warranty, disintegration under hard braking, being ruined by car wash wax, breaking when wheels removed, and what not. This was worrisome at the time because i believe the F10 M5 was the first BMW to offer CCBs. In actuality my CCBs were flawless, quiet, ALWAYS clean, and provided awesome stopping power. I have ordered them on my 2021 LCI and will get them on any car I can. I am not sure there is any performance reason to have them, but I have to admit the absence of any brake dust keeps your car looking clean all the time and probably my favorite aspect of the CCBs! Yes the cost is a little breath-taking, but other than that I think nothing but good things about them. |

Too bad, so sad!
I had my dealer, and several other dealers including the big Grapevine one, check on this with BMW NA and in Germany. The answer is NO. They will let you get have plumb wood with the BASE M5, but once you select the competition package your trim choices are the two plastic carbon trims or piano black. Period. No option for individual (I think due to covid). This seems to be a trend, I looked on Audi USA to configure RS7 and with highest performance package can only get a black interior! So I am happy at least to get tartufo with competition package.

BUT, i will live with the Piano Black rather than give up the competition package, which also has the new magical transmission tune! |
