2020 break in service

Anyone get told by their dealer during their break in that all the sudden the 2020 M5 doesn't require the front diff fluid to be replaced as in the 18/19? A member posted it in the engine sub section but feel it's not gonna get a lot of traction there and as I have mine coming up I am curious if I need to look out for this and if it's hogwash

Assume the 2 means both axles. Although I do remember another guy saying the front and rear take different oils.

In my case, Ignorance is bliss! I am a novice in the field of automobiles and expect the professionals to do what is necessary to take care of them. I do not ask any questions as I do not know what to ask other than “Is the required work done and Is anything else needed?”

Rear axle takes 2 Hypoid G4 oil, Front axle takes 2 Hypoid G2 oil. Why has BMW stopped changing front axle oil at the 1200 mile service?

Hope this does not cause front axle problems in the future, might have dealer change oil in the front axle anyway.

i said "given this is my first lease"...by separate the two i was referring to separating the different mindset between owning my X5 vs leasing my M5.

I would do the same as well for peace of mind even if I had to pay for it

Of course the dealer will have no idea why it's not done anymore so asking them will probably be futile.

Screw the dealer, call Germany and ask for a BMW engineer. Get the story straight.

By the way, your warrantee is now voided.

He was being ironic. As in the dealer would not do a service that may or may not suppose to be done but then something bad happens regarding it and they won't cover under warranty because you should have had the oil serviced.

See. Ironic. Haha
