It is important that I reiterate that I am seeking a 2020 and I want to order one from the factory to get the options I want, and to do Performance Delivery which is really helpful to me because it will put the car near Atlanta so my detailer can pick it up from the PDC and take it directly to his shop for PPF and coating.

So, the question remains.... is $1700 a month with $2k cash down too much for an ordered build?
Really not honestly, I’ve ordered my individual fire orange M3 back in 2015. Dealer offered basically similar discounts as the inventory making my monthly 1% of the MSRP including tax. I live in Seattle but factor in shipping its still worth it.
All comes down to the time, and location of the purchase.
1. It was during The cold months after holidays when I inquire.
3. Dealership is in the east coast
2. Dealer’s size, and if they claim to be a m dealer? Some smaller dealerships, though with lower demands, will still be allocated M models no matter what
3. If they were to take the car in as inventory, they will lose money, so why not just have it sold first instead of having it sit, Taking up space and costing them more money?

Searching, calling is a lot of hassle for sure, and it’s up to you to think if spending those time is worth it? Id say if today your 2020 order is with in 100 or so higher than the comparable great deal of the 2020s on the lot, just go with it, the time you spent will not be worth it.
However, if it’s in the few hundreds, you might want to ask around more. Heck, if your current dealer knows you are shopping around, they might even try to match it at the end of the day.

I wish I could offer more related guidance. I take a new car every 12 months or so and lease them all. Because of that frequency/churn, I take them as-is and off of the lot but with very little compromise—is your build too unique to find something sitting? You have more leverage if you can find one.

For custom builds, dealers are less willing to play. In your shoes, I'd take this deal to a few other geographically-useful-to-you dealers and see if they'll compete. If not, you have your deal.

No, there is not a single car in the country with the options I have specified. And there likely never will be. That is fine with me, I don't mind ordering a car. But I just want to make sure that I am not grossly overpaying compared to other people that have ordered a car.

Has anyone ordered a car here?

I custom ordered my 2019 M5 back in May. I was able to get over 11% off before rebates. I know the manager and send him quite a bit of business. Probably can't duplicate that but I am sure he could beat what you were offered if you are willing to have it shipped or you may be able to do a courtesy delivery near you. If you start sending emails to other dealers in your area I am sure you can get 6-8% off msrp plus rebates on a custom order. Just have to shop around.

That's going to have to be ordered... It's the mdrivers pack and pcd obviously as the real culprits...

They won't wiggle too much on 2020's as they just came out recently... End of the year is coming up so if you find a VOLUME dealer maybe they'll be more willing to play ball Dec 30th / 31st...

Just closed on a deal......got 10% off an alpine white 2019 model. They then gave me an extra $1k off.

Went for a 24 month lease....10k miles.....$1198/month. Will also be getting $1k BMWCCA rebate check.

Emailed a few dealers and 10% was the most anyone was offering off a 2019....and not everyone was offering that even.

What’s the MSRP? I came across a few up to 15% off before the 4500 lease rebate bmw offered before settling on one myself. There certainly are deals to be had on the 2019s right now

Was just over $115k......I assume the 15% off ones were higher-optioned cars?

Not really. 12% was pretty standard and some deals posted in this forum were at 14-15% off for 2019 models. And 2020 placed orders were at 10% discounts. You can search these forums. All these discounts were before any incentives or rebates.

Why do you want the M Drivers Package? A $2,500 option just to get a $1,500 driving school credit seems foolish to me. And bragging rights for a higher top speed isn't worth that cost either.

Unless he doesn't want to tune and unlock the speed and go to drag races or airport strips for top speed.

Even for a comp, that seems high for a 2019. You should be able to negotiate a huge amount off that msrp before getting into lease terms.
