M5C vs. Mercedes AMG GT 4-door 63s coupe
I currently own a M5C that I love. However, I was wandering what the Forum members thought of the Merc AMG GT 4-door 63s.
You have to admit it sounds amazing ! But is it fun and as practical as the M5 ? It is also 50-60K$ more expensive. Is it worth it ? I doubt it. I test drove the E63s prior to getting the M5 and thought it was awesome however, it does not look half as good as the M5. But the look of the GT 4-door is stellar. What do YOU think ? |

IMO apples to oranges comparison. GT63s built is all of 180k+ . Much more than M5C and after a different market. Interior and exterior miles better in GT63s feels much more special
AMG GT63S looks amazing from front, good from back and average from side. That said there's no mistaking it for an E300 with AMG package ala M5 - 530 I don't see them as competitors at all. My opinion of course but GT63S is more upscale and it shows. Sounds better, looks better, performs better (at least when comparing ring times) and has much more presence

GT 63 S is a very nice car but way overpriced
close to 200 k and what make matters worse is they don't lease well I think if you can pick a used one for around 110-120 k , it might be worth the risk . I think they will get there very soon as a lot of dealers have new cars sitting around that they can't move and this will trickle down to used market and already did |

The AMG GT drives incredibly well for its size. It really shrinks around you at speed. For me it was a value proposition. It was really good, but not $65k better than the M5 Comp that came home with me.

I would go for it, if you want an unique look. M5 is too similar to the regular 5 series, which is good or bad depends on what you want.

I have a deal set thru my factory connects at 35k off sticker on a 19 GT63S but I really still am enjoying this M5 so much. I know the M5 is faster but not better around a track but I dont really track much if at all so that plus would be not applicable. But I do love a spirited weekly run in my private locale where I can really open up the car and push it in heavy turns. I think you are right, its a unique looker for sure. Edit: My First Edition does have its own unique polarizing appearance with that paint.

Irony: Driving today, I saw a fully loaded GT63S with the big wing in the back in Designo Magno Gray (not sure the exact name but it was matte)... it looked like a fucking cruise missing ready to pounce. I was in my tuned NSX (yes I have one LOL and its a great driver) so I think I would have beat (I trap around 128) but we werent in a place to do such nasty things. But it looked good. It looked like this but was an S:

$35k off sticker makes things interesting. Still, think Panamera leads this segment, but I am biased. The facelift hopefully closes the performance gap, but then the Panny prices itself out.
Ready to part ways with the M5. Pleased with performance but exterior looks have gotten boring to me. Thought I could wait it out for the RS6 Avant, but I think I will need a placeholder car. GT63 could possibly be it. |

I've driven it, although for a short period of time. Its pretty much like an enhanced/better E63S. Steering is lighter than M5, but very precise and has more feedback. Chassis is very engaging and playful, almost surprisingly agile for the size and weight of the vehicle, but it does ride much stiffer than any M5. AMG's bi-turbo V8 is in my opinion a class benchmark when it comes to exhausts notes, and is incredibly smooth and powerful. Interior is nicely modern and flashy, but styling inside and out will always be subjective. Its a very fun vehicle, I encourage you drive one when you can.
