15,000 miles with my F90 M5 - positives and negatives
Featured on BIMMERPOST.com The Positives:
The Negatives:
I change my daily drivers almost every year since I drive about 30k miles a year split between my M5 and my Range Rover. All I can say about this car is that despite issues and bad luck it is still the best daily driver I have ever owned and have not found any other car on the market that can entice me to switch. |

Thanks for sharing your ownership experience.
This exposed oil cooler issue seems very alarming to me. Has BMW made any design changes for the 2019 models to address this, or do I have to worry about this too? I suspect, this could be a potential problem for those who track theirs occasionally as well. A rock or debris kicked up from the car in front at high speed could spell trouble for such an exposed oil cooler.

Thanks for the review. Agreed on almost all fronts.
You mentioned you got 'flagged'--did they state precisely what the implication of being 'flagged' is? Related, you were flagged because you left it installed during a service appointment or something else? |

Is the oil guard a reasonably do-able DIY install? Bumper removal necessary? I have a floor jack and jack stands and can change my own brake pads during track events, and that's about the extent of my mechanical expertise.

This was well written and agreed on most accounts... This car has no business being this quick and to same extent neither should the e63s I just got rid of recently... This has more of a switch from comfort to sport than the e63 did - your kidneys still felt like they were in your esophagus...
I dislike the passenger seatbelt hitting the pillars when there's no passenger... And the cheap paint everyone's been using as of late due to all the cancer warnings, fears and whatnot... Also, I don't feel like she drives like a bloated heavy pig - which I feared but she's nimble and surefooted... PS - Gorgeous home... Now, we need pics of the garage please... |

If I recall, you also owned an E46 M3 before, and simple math shows your next car as M3 + M5 = M8.

although the interior was beautiful the build quality was poor and response of the command system was very slow. I ended up having to lemon the car since I had so many issues but even without those I just feel the M5 is a better executed product. |
