Cleaning Black Exhaust tips (UK)
Hello,
I've had a search around and struggling to find options for cleaning black pipes, there are a few products for metal/chrome tips, but I'm concerned they might scratch the paint. Any suggestions appreciated. Cheers, Nick |

Hi Nick,
I just wipe mine over with a sponge when washing the car. I've not quite done 2000 miles yet, so I appreciate they're still quite new (September 2018 car), but they never seem particularly dirty. My car is fitted with one of the new petrol particulate filters, so it's possible this is why they stay quite clean. Whatever you use, start with the least abrasive product, and work up from there. Even just wiping them over with tar remover may be enough. After that, look at mild paint polishing compounds. Even good old T-Cut won't do any damage to a tail pipe. Ian. |

Mine has covered 12k miles and just been removed, I'm about to List on eBay so need to clean up. I've already tried cleaning it but not taken off the marks (see below). T-Cut might be the one though. https://postimg.cc/RJMVvfqK |
