If the 340i can do this, this is a testimony that the new M3 & M4 is going to be nuts

That is really impressive that the M340i basically tied the M2C,even with the HP and weight disadvantage.
BTW,that M2C exhaust is brutal. |

A similar powered car with the advantages of AWD launch control and the 8 speed ZF box vs a manual RWD car in a standing start race had the M2C had DCT it would have won both tests instead of just one.

Looking forward to the next M3/M4 as the B58 is a pretty stout engine without M-performance getting their hands on it. I like the new LCD display as well. I feel the next M3/M4 are going to make the current M2/3/4 cars feel a bit old with all the new interior updates.

Not surprising really. I'd expect the DCT M2C to pull a bit.

Cool I made it onto the front page! There was another poster in Europe who posted this same video but in the F30 section. I did also add a comparo from this site on the original thread showing the Lambo Urus vs. P100D model X with the Urus being much slower, but I think that guy didn't launch properly and had slow reaction times. On Drag Times, the cars are neck and neck and it comes down to reaction times, though the Urus was slightly faster. Just to show that these tests depend on many factors.

This is just a small hint of how badly the sacrilegious automatic xDrive G80 M3 will whup the "pure" RWD manual one.

It's cool but is it really impressive that an auto awd car is close to a rwd car of similar power? I mean it's awesome that it's that fast but it's hardly impressive.

The comparison is not an auto vs manual or AWD vs RWD. It's really a 3-series vs an M2 Competition that's the real comparison. And how AWD in a future M3/M4 is more than overdue.

Same situation here. The new 3-series is so well engineered that keeps up with the current M2 Competition, at a power deficit, weight disadvantage plus an "auto" transmission.

Really hoping for passive suspension with smaller wheels 18"-19" Luckily, in the current F80 you can have rev-match off in Sports Plus. Hopefully, there is a way to disable, or be able to blip the throttle yourself in the upcoming pure model, w/o having to turn DSC off. |
