Anti Dazzle high beam assistants

Finally found some time to record a video on awesome anti dazzle lights
I absolutely love it
Living outside the city is a big must have, had it on mine previous cars and can't live without it

It was snowing as it might be hard to see but, paying attention you will see the beam split and shut down on left side when oncoming traffic approaches

Is this a US spec care? I didn't think the anti-dazzle was activated in the US. I'd love to activate mine!

It is US spec and it's not approved yet.
I did decode mine
Don't know why US is so behind

Same with laser lights that FDA takes forever to approve. Finally they did make a small step and approved it but, the beam is not fully open like in Europe :

Where did you get it coded? Do you mind sharing the contact and price? I’m from IL, so if it is local, then I’m close enough. You can PM me if you prefer.

Thanks

Rg did a great job on mine. This is third car i’ve had this coded on and it is a must have in my opinion. Hoping that when the wifes x7 shows up we can code the lasers up to full euro spec.

Nice, you are right it's a must have. Such a difference in driving , I absolutely love it.
I was hoping I could do it on mine M240xi that has LED but it has different hardware for beam shaping
You can do so much more on coding then just head lights

Working quite well but can be improved even more if so desired. Requires a bit of physical labor to remove the locking plugs (special tool required) installed on US cars (Canada cars through 7.18) followed by a diagnostic alignment process.

For Canada members, retroactive enabling is available officially through dealerships.

On NIVI equipped cars, Dynamic Light Spot can also be enabled but requires ICOM interface to do so.

I had my coded a few months ago and it has been great! What are these "locking plugs" and what do they prevent? If you successfully removed them, where would you get a diagnostic alignment? Just curious as they work great now, but better is always, well... better.

Apologies in advance if this is a silly question - for a European Delivery car would they have "deactivated" this feature already in the factory (as it was a US bound car)? I distinctly remember my BMW delivery guy explaining this feature, but I didn't drive at night over there so can't say whether it was on or off. If it was activated, then I've got my fingers crossed they won't deactivate it once it arrives into the US this week.

There is no silly question, we all learn.
I pretty sure, that's because you are bringing it back to US

I'd like the orange led on headlight codes off, may you ask your coder if he figure that one out yet

Main purpose is to prevent manual horizontal adjustment that's not as easy to remove compared to prior disabling plugs.

The design however not only interferes with the manual adjuster, it also repositions the stepper motor extension arm position as it slides over and holds the retaining end out at the far position.

It's something that needs more physical investigation and testing but does provide one very important bit of info regardless...

Do not attempt to manually adjust the headlamps unless they're removed.

Thank you for that! It's not surprising it's there for US cars since you can't adjust US cars' lights horizontally anyway. Just strange that the swivel and other functions seem to work well even with this limitation. I would imagine though, that there is the potential that your horizontal alignment could need adjustment over time and that you may need to establish the limits of the system straight ahead if you are relying on that alignment for the anti-dazzle function.

I did a euro delivery on my car and it still works here in the US since it was working in Europe. The vehicle comes here as a "tourist car" and is untouched until delivery so it doesn't go through another PDI here in the US otherwise I feel like they probably would have taken that feature off.

That is interesting, wouldn't think they would do that sense it's US spec.
Good to know.
