Nice, it's getting cold and I have seen some snow that melted right away.
This picture was taken couple days ago and you can see some snow on edge of driveway

I like the SZ3 more because treads are different and it looks like it has more grip.

I don't think so, but for winter I honestly don't care sense I will drive this car very little.
Won't even take it above 60MH Won't even load any weight either

Dealer SA said I should not put a square setup on the car per discussion with BMW. I have these tires and will likely put them on also. There is a square 19” set coming from BMW, don’t see why a square 20” set has an issue. Although 285’s on the front may be problematic. He said they had an issue with too large of front tires possibly damaging a differential on a 7 Series. Don’t know the details.

That doesn't make sense. As long as the rolling diameter is the same you can't damage differential. 10mm wider on front won't change much on hight, besides that, I won't be driving much in winter anyway.

Yes a little obviously, I think you have to stay within 3%
I have very short drive so it doesn't effect me at all Plus what if you drive RWD most of the time?

I stopped yesterday on middle of mine driveway which had 9% pitch and, it had about 1" snow on it. Start driving up hill and didn't see traction light on Gripes like crazy, more then happy. I made a video that I might post

Also curious, have you tried to push the car at all with these? Wonder how they perform when pushed in comparison to the summer staggered setup. Any vibration/road noise? Also wonder if anybody has tried to mix the Sottozero Serie II for front (which come in 275 size) and the Sottozero 3 for the back. |

Any other changes you noticed with the bigger width such as any rubbing, steering heavy etc.? I know the diameter difference is only 1% so the rest should be fine but also unsure about going all the way down to V speed rating. I appreciate all your answers - running out of time to find something suitable. We barely get any snow here so whatever I pick will not see much - maybe once or twice a year in January/February - but the Pirelli summers get so hard when temps are under 40. |

If installing a size up in front I am also considering the Michelin Pilot Alpin PA4 which does come in 285/35R20 104V but OE for either Porsche or Mercedes. Not sure if anybody has experience with these here but they seem to have better reviews in general.
